Maja Mrkoci Named Senior Vice President for Television Content and Innovation of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting

WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 1, 2017) — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has named Maja Mrkoci as its senior vice president for Television Content and Innovation. In this role, Mrkoci will oversee the development and implementation of CPB’s strategy for investing in television and digital content and advancing digital innovation throughout the public media system. Mrkoci will continue to work closely with PBS, public television stations and independent production organizations to support innovative, diverse and creative programming and content for national public media audiences.
“Maja will continue to lead digital, innovation and technology initiatives within CPB as she works externally with our partners and general managers. She will be working with a strong team, as CPB develops and implements investments in trusted television programming as well as digital content to increase public media’s reach and sustainability for the future,” said Pat Harrison, CPB president and CEO.
Mrkoci joined CPB in 2015 as the vice president of Content and Digital Media and then broadened her role to lead a new innovation program as the vice president of Digital Innovation. Prior to joining CPB, Mrkoci worked at PBS for nine years leading business development for PBS Digital, where she established a team, set the strategy and created the distribution, marketing and innovation partnerships with leading entities in the media distribution space. Mrkoci previously worked at Discovery Communications.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. Mrkoci has served as a board member and chair of the development committee of the nonprofit organization Docs in Progress.
