CPB Statement of Condolence on the Death of Allen Weatherly of AETN

Washington, D.C. (November 1, 2016) -- Patricia Harrison, president and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) made the following statement regarding Allen Weatherly, executive director of the Arkansas Educational Television Network, who died on November 1.
"The Corporation for Public Broadcasting extends its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Allen Weatherly, executive director of the Arkansas Educational Television Network.
For 36 years, Allen served his community and advanced the mission of public media, working to preserve the history, culture and heritage of Arkansas, increase education services to the state; tell the stories of Arkansas’ World War II veterans through the "In Their Words” project; and produce award-winning programming.
Allen served as AETN executive director for 15 years, was executive director and board member of the AETN Foundation, and was a member of the national PBS board.
We share the sorrow of his beloved Arkansas community and the wider public media family at his passing."
