Since 2011, WFYI and its community partners have convened 29 Conversations About Education, reaching 2800 in person and many more via live webcasts and archived versions.  Topics have spanned public policy, supports for students, out of school time, and bullying.  WFYI also co-led a statewide campaign about Chronic Absenteeism, and brought national voices to Indiana that included Bob Balfanz, John Bridgeland, Alma Powell, Judy Woodruff, and Roland Fryer to talk with Hoosiers about the dropout crisis.  A shared reporting series, Lost in Translation, resulted in the state legislature tripling the funding for English language learner programs.
